Haynes Academy stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by St. Katharine Drexel at home to the tune of 51-17. The victory was familiar territory for Haynes Academy who now have four in a row.
St. Katharine Drexel lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caitlin Smith, who dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and 23 blocks. Smith is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaquel Angrum, who scored 12 points.
Haynes Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for St. Katharine Drexel, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haynes Academy will take on Ursuline Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Katharine Drexel won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Varnado at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th.
