Neshannock is a perfect 5-0 against Union Area since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Scotties at 2:00 p.m. Neshannock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.3 runs per game this season.

Neshannock easily dispatched Aliquippa on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Lancers fell just short of Mohawk Area by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday. The contest marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Neshannock saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Hutchison, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Union Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Western Beaver.

Union Area's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Neshannock, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Neshannock has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Union Area struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Neshannock was able to grind out a solid victory over Union Area in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, winning 8-4. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scotties turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
