Southlake Carroll senior Cade Foster placed his name in the record books over the weekend as one of the greatest kickers in Texas high school football history.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder kicked seven extra points during a 70-21 rout of Flower Mound. That gave him a state career-record 234 extra points (out of 243 tries). The previous record was 227. His total also places him No. 5 in national history. The record is 350.
“I never thought I’d be there,” Foster said. “It’s an awesome accomplishment. I credit it a lot to our program. I’ve started for four years and it’s the type of offense that we have (which scores a lot of points).”
Foster also has been successful on 35 of his 46 field-goal attempts, with a long of 49 yards.
"He also starts at linebacker (70 tackles this year). He’s an unbelievable kicker, but also a great kid and role model," Carroll coach Hal Wasson said. "He’s blessed with a lot of strength and always trying to improve himself.”
Foster has made a commitment to the University of Alabama.
“No doubt he’ll have a great career at Alabama and parlay that into the NFL," Wasson said.
* After being benched briefly for his third fumble, senior Antaries Daniels (5-11, 200) rushed for a Nebraska large-school record 410 yards and scored four touchdowns, but winless Omaha Northwest still suffered a 51-33 loss to Omaha Benson in its final game of the year. He just missed the all-class record of 414 and also bested the school record of 358 set by his coach, Damon Benning, in 1991.
* Giltner senior quarterback Nate Most (6-0, 210) set a Nebraska 8-man record by running his career passing yardage to 6,835 during a 54-14 rout of Silver Lake. His total also surpasses Nebraska’s 11-man record of 6,793 by Scott Frost of Wood River, a Class C school.
* Shattuck, Okla., tied the national record for 8-man football when it defeated Sharon-Mutual, 46-32, for its 90th consecutive victory. Morrison, Okla., set the record from 1989-95.
* Senior quarterback Dylan Favre threw for 512 yards and eight touchdowns as St. Stanislaus rolled over Pass Christian, 69-7, to set a Mississippi state record with 132 career touchdown passes – which ties him for No. 10 in national history.
* Lexington Christian senior running back Domonique Hayden set another record in Kentucky with two touchdowns during a 42-0 victory over Fairview. He now has 723 career points, one more than Herbie Phelps amassed for Old Kentucky Home in the 1960s.
* Henry A. Wise (8-0) tied a Maryland state record with its seventh consecutive shutout, a 44-0 rout of Oxon Hill.
* Jordan (Sandy, Utah) senior quarterback Alex Hart, who leads the nation in passing, has made a commitment to Utah State.
* Ironton’s Bob Lutz set an Ohio state record when he coached his 361st career victory with a 32-12 decision against Nelsonville-York. He has had just one losing record in 40 years. He now is tied with three others for the 17th-highest victory total in national history.
* Forest Hill (West Palm Beach, Fla.) ended a 37-game losing streak with a 12-7 victory over Spanish River. The state-record losing streak is 43 – also held by Forest Hill.
* In Colorado, unbeaten Yuma edged three-time defending Class A state champion Akron, 17-14, to snap a 46-game winning streak. Quarterback Mitch Wills ran four yards for the winning touchdown with eight seconds left.
* Reidsville stretched North Carolina’s longest active winning streak to 41 with a 54-22 victory over Graham.
* Inkster (Mich.) snapped Steubenville’s home winning streak at 53 games with an impressive 36-29 victory. Senior quarterback Devin Gardner dazzled the Ohio powerhouse by passing for 288 yards – including the winning 63-yard touchdown with 34 seconds left.
* Colerain (Cincinnati, Ohio) stretched its home winning streak to 53 games with a 10-7 victory over Middletown.
* In Pennsylvania, Will Hugo kicked a school-record 52-yard field goal with 30 seconds left to give Seneca Valley a 19-17 win against Pine-Richland. He also had a 43-yarder.
* Moorefield sophomore corner back Zach Laughlin (6-0, 165) tied the West Virginia state record with five interceptions during a 42-0 victory over East Hardy. He has nine for the year.
* Hopewell (Huntersville, N.C.) senior Chance Miller (5-10, 180) made seven sacks during a 42-21 victory over Mooresville. National records are not kept for sacks, but the NCAA record is 7.5.
* Junior tailback Zack Langer set a Jenks (Okla.) school record with seven touchdowns during a 63-40 triumph over Bartlesville. He had 23 carries for 289 yards.
* Senior defensive back Tommy Woodward made four interceptions as Downingtown West defeated Downingtown East, 26-14, in Pennsylvania.
* Football has been plagued by rain, mud and a flu epidemic this fall, but here’s one for the books: a game in Lancaster, Pa., had to be postponed due to a sinkhole (18 inches wide and three feet deep) which materialized in the south end zone.
Xavier sets national record
Xavier (Phoenix, Ariz.) set a national record recently when its girls golf team won its 145th consecutive dual meet. The record of 144 was held by Green Valley (Henderson, Nev.). Xavier also won 77 straight from 1979-85.
Coach Sister Lynn Winsor has compiled a glittering 367-25 record with 27 state titles in 36 years.
Howard picks Florida State
One of the nation’s premier basketball players, Natasha Howard, has made a commitment to Florida State University. The 6-3 standout from Waite (Toledo, Ohio) also considered Auburn and Xavier.
* Other top recent commitments were by 6-4 Shaunice McKinney (LeFlore, Mobile, Ala.), to Louisiana State; 5-7 point guard Bria Hartley (North Babylon, N.Y.), to Connecticut; and 6-6 Jennifer Hamson (Pleasant Grove, Utah), to Brigham Young.
* One of the nation’s top sophomores, 6-4 Rachel Hollivay (New Hope, Columbus, Miss.), is expected to miss only three games this year after suffering an eye injury from a serious car accident. She had a cornea transplant in early October.
Soccer streak snapped
In West Virginia, Huntington nipped Hurricane, 2-1, to end the nation’s longest active scoreless streak in boys soccer. Hurricane had blown away 20 straight opponents without yielding a single goal. At the start of the season, Hurricane had blanked Huntington, 10-0.
