Taylor is 2-8 against Mariemont since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Taylor Yellowjackets' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Mariemont Warriors at 12:30 p.m. on January 20th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Taylor beat Roger Bacon 39-35. That's two games straight that Taylor has won by exactly four points.
Meanwhile, Mariemont didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Wyoming on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 23-18 win. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Mariemont has scored all season.
Taylor pushed their record up to 10-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Mariemont, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
Taylor didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mariemont when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 47-43 win. Does Taylor have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mariemont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
