Riverdale Baptist is a perfect 10-0 against Southern Maryland Christian Academy since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Crusaders will host the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Riverdale Baptist had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt DC International on Monday. The Crusaders were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Dragons. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Crusaders this season.

The team relied heavily on DIXON MONK, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of EVAN SHERARD, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Southern Maryland Christian Academy had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Saints.
Malcolm Blaqman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Southern Maryland Christian Academy: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6 otherwise.
Blaqman wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jay (JP) Perry II, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Isaiah Priester also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Southern Maryland Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.
Riverdale Baptist is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Southern Maryland Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
