They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Boone 55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Lake Brantley has posted against Boone since January 17, 2015.
Lake Brantley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Princeton Gordon led the charge by scoring ten points along with two blocks. Gordon has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Dean Adkins was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Despite the loss, Boone still got an impressive performance from Lian Hernandez, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hernandez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cheo James, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Lake Brantley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Boone, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Lake Brantley will head out on the road to take on Lake Minneola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lake Minneola focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Wednesday. As for Boone, they will be playing at home against Colonial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
