The Schoharie Storm will face off against the Fort Plain Hilltoppers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Schoharie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Schoharie couldn't beat Mayfield on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Storm fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 6-5.

Kayla Hayes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Schoharie saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Lawyer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Alaina Martin, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Fort Plain owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They put the hurt on Canajoharie with a sharp 7-0 victory.
Lainie McDuffee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. McDuffee was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Daija Suits was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Jordon Gomez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Fort Plain's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Schoharie, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Fort Plain's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Schoharie hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. It's a different story for Fort Plain, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Schoharie's hitters?
Schoharie took their victory against Fort Plain when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 22-4 score. Do the Storm have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hilltoppers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
