It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Colorado Springs Christian Lions ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-34 victory over Peyton. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Jace Velasquez looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 178 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Will Moore was another key contributor, rushing for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Landon Hadley, who picked up 98 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Martin, who threw for 234 yards and four touchdowns.
Colorado Springs Christian's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. As for Peyton, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Colorado Springs Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Peyton also has no future games currently scheduled.
