The Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They really took it to South Baldwin Christian Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-3 victory on the road. The team accrued 29 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Holland Hamer was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with nine steals and five rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bethany Crumpler, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Gulf Pointe Latin's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-5. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33 points. As for South Baldwin Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf Pointe Latin will take on Aletheia Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Aletheia Christian Academy is ranked 509th, while Gulf Pointe Latin is ranked 515th). As for South Baldwin Christian Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lighthouse Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 18th. Lighthouse Baptist Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
