The biggest upset of the week belonged to Mahopac, who took down 73rd ranked Clarkstown South, 19-14.
The Indians moved up to 81 from 141 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 1 AA. Mahopac climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Vikings 19-14.
Suffern's dynamic duo of Chris Gragnani and Harley McNally proved tough for Ketcham to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gragnani threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns and McNally had 152 yards receiving. Richie Horowitz helped Suffern's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 103 yards.
Robby Nigro was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 144 yards as Mamaroneck lost to the Indians. Marquez Jackson-Allen also contributed to the rushing game with 120 yards on the ground.
Gabriel Cohen made the biggest impact on defense this week as Suffern fell to Ketcham. The 6-foot-1 sophomore pulled down two interceptions.
The Mounties' Gragnani and Horowitz have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Gragnani has thrown for 879 yards this season, while Horowitz, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 17 catches for 316 yards. Nigro from the Tigers leads the league in rushing with 598 yards.
A big matchup in Section 1 AA this week will be when John Jay takes on Clarkstown South. The Patriots are currently in fourth, while the Vikings are in ninth.
New Rochelle extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating John Jay, 13-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
