They snuck past American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North with a 29-23 victory on Wednesday. That's two games straight that Marana has won by exactly six points.
Marana was led to victory by Adrian Griffin and Malaysia Roebuck. Griffin scored eight points along with six steals, while Roebuck dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Roebuck is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for four games straight.
American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North's loss came despite strong showings from Layla Jones and Saige Barney. Jones scored six points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks, while Barney scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Barney hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
Marana's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-15. As for American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marana won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Tucson High Magnet School is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
