The Creekside Knights won against the Ponte Vedra Sharks last Thursday with 26 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Creekside managed a 26-21 victory over Ponte Vedra. The win was familiar territory for Creekside who now have three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Creekside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Danny Approbato, who rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown. Kaleb Taylor-burch did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Several Sharks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryan Smith, who picked up 116 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Burk, who threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns.
Creekside has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 6-5 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points per game. As for Ponte Vedra, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-3.
Creekside will head out on the road to face off against Ponte Vedra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Ponte Vedra is ranked 46th, while Creekside is ranked 68th). As for Ponte Vedra, they will look to defend their home field against Creekside at 7:00 p.m.
