The Pulaski Red Raiders will venture away from home to take on the Ashwaubenon Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Pulaski 3.5, Ashwaubenon 0.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Saturday, Pulaski came up short against Green Bay Preble and fell 7-2. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kianna Altendorf was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Ashwaubenon had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They blew past the Redbirds 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Berritt Herr made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elly Kirst, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Peyton Crutcher also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Ashwaubenon lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as De Pere didn't launched any home runs.
Ashwaubenon pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Pulaski, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Pulaski hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Ashwaubenon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Pulaski couldn't quite finish off Ashwaubenon in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Red Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
