The St. Charles North North Stars will be playing at home against the Geneva Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
St. Charles North had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past Lake Park 42-14 on the road. 42 seems to be a good number for St. Charles North as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Geneva got the win against St. Charles East on Friday by a conclusive 42-20. Given Geneva's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while St. Charles East is ranked 186th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nate Stempowski continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 173 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 131 yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Loberg, who picked up 85 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 6-2.
St. Charles North strolled past Geneva in their previous meeting back in September of 2022 by a score of 35-20. Will St. Charles North repeat their success, or does Geneva have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
