On Thursday, Maryvale Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Superior, taking the game 30-22. The win made it back-to-back wins for Maryvale Prep.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stephanie Lopez, who scored 12 points along with 5 steals. Lopez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilianna Fritz, who scored 8 points along with 13 rebounds and 4 steals.
The victory got Maryvale Prep back to even at 3-3. As for Superior, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Maryvale Prep will be playing at home against Music Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Superior, they will head out on the road to face off against Cicero Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cicero Prep Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 13 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
