Rock Port scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 77-41 victory over Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri. With that victory, Rock Port brought their scoring average up to 53.6 points per game.
Rock Port relied on the efforts of Malachi Skillen, who scored 13 points, and Jack Meyerkorth, who scored 19 points along with four steals. The matchup was Meyerkorth's third in a row with at least ten points. Westyn Amthor was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Union Star's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 58-14 to Nodaway-Holt, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Rock Port's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Union Star, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Rock Port took their victory against Union Star when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 62-37. Will Rock Port repeat their success, or does Union Star have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
