McLean scaled the state rankings by moving to 184 from 236 this week, the biggest jump in 6A Conference 6. The Highlanders were able to move up by topping South Lakes 13-12.
Fairfax fell to Westfield 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
McLean's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Highlanders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Daniel Hecht has thrown for 402 yards this season, while Christopher McDonald has 5 catches for 111 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Madison takes on the Seahawks. As it stands, the Warhawks are in seventh, while South Lakes is in fourth.
McLean and the Seahawks played the most contested game in the league this week, with McLean eventually emerging with a 13-12 victory. Gabriel Sutherland ran for 154 yards and caught 3 passes for 14 yards during the win.
