The Jordan-Matthews Jets's game on Friday was all tied up 29-29 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 64-51 to Lee County. Jordan-Matthews has not had much luck with Lee County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Jordan-Matthews lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brennen Oldham. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. Oldham continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Elijah Hughes was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Jordan-Matthews smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lee County only pulled down three offensive rebounds.
Lee County was led to victory by Kamaree Butler and Nic Farrow. Butler scored 19 points along with two steals, while Farrow scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Farrow continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ronnie Hooker, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.
Jordan-Matthews' loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Lee County, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7.
Jordan-Matthews will play host again and welcome Seaforth, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Seaforth is ranked 402nd, while Jordan-Matthews is ranked 384th). As for Lee County, they will head out on the road to take on Pinecrest at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Allowing an average of 53.4 points per game, Pinecrest has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game.
