Basketball Recap: St. John's Northwestern Military Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Wesley Chapman and Mamadou N'diaye

St. John's Northwestern Military Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 80-59 to the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while the Timberwolves are ranked 92nd).

Despite the defeat, St. John's Northwestern Military Academy had strong showings from Mamadou N'Diaye, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards, and Wesley Chapman, who went 11 of 24 on his way to 27 points and six rebounds. N'Diaye is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of James Visocky, who posted seven points.

Easton Oliver was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 13 on his way to 26 points and six rebounds for Living Word Lutheran. Jordan Evans was another key player, putting up 17 points and eight rebounds.

St. John's Northwestern Military Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Living Word Lutheran, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John's Northwestern Military Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kenosha Christian Life at 7:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Living Word Lutheran, they will venture away from home to take on Milwaukee Reagan at 9:15 a.m. on Friday.
