Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the Asotin Panthers couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were beaten by River View 47-20 on Friday. Asotin's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Cody Ells and Peter Eggleston certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Ells rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.2 yards per carry, while Eggleston rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown.
River View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hyatt Clark, who threw for 212 yards and four touchdowns. Connor Harper also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Asotin's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for River View, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Asotin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. River View will head out on the road to face off against Napavine at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Napavine is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
