The Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators and the Calvary Christian Academy Patriots will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gulf Pointe Latin will be strutting in after a win while Calvary Christian Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Gulf Pointe Latin is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 victory over Covenant Christian on Friday. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but the Gladiators were the better team in the second half.

Gulf Pointe Latin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bethany Crumpler, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. What's more, Crumpler also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Rebekah Thompson, who posted ten points and seven steals.

Gulf Pointe Latin was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy came up short against Gulf Pointe Latin on Tuesday and fell 31-18.

Gulf Pointe Latin pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
