The Ponca City Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Southmoore 75-38. While losing is never fun, Ponca City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Southmoore is ranked 66th).
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacon Dugosh, who scored eight points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jackson Northcutt, who scored eight points.
Ponca City bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Southmoore, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Ponca City will take on Western Heights at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southmoore, they will be playing at home against Choctaw at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
