The Hermitage Hornets will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Warsaw Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, everything went Hermitage's way against Laquey as Hermitage made off with a 60-37 victory.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Warsaw had to settle for a 61-58 loss against Osceola on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Warsaw can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Osceola is ranked 92nd).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Noah Siebert, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Logan Gemes, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The win got Hermitage back to even at 3-3. As for Warsaw, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Hermitage was able to grind out a solid victory over Warsaw in their previous matchup back in January, winning 44-37. Does Hermitage have another victory up their sleeve, or will Warsaw turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
