When it comes to explaining why Kokomo lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aijia Elliott. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. Elliott scored a full 50% of Kokomo's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Amara Stroman was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
It was another big night for Lillie Graves, who scored 24 points along with 8 assists and 5 rebounds for McCutcheon. The contest was Graves' tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Braelyn Williams, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Kokomo's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for McCutcheon, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Kokomo will be playing in front of their home fans against Hamilton Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamilton Heights is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. As for McCutcheon, they will head out on the road to face off against Lafayette Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lafayette Jefferson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 308th, while McCutcheon is ranked 87th).
