Basketball Recap: Kankakee Trinity Academy Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

If HomeSchool Resource Center wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Kankakee Trinity Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Vinny Hendrix. Kankakee Trinity Academy managed a 55-50 win over the HomeSchool Resource Center Patriots on Monday thanks in part to Hendrix, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (four).

Akira Hori was another key player, putting up 11 points. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

When it comes to explaining why HomeSchool Resource Center lost, don't look at Noel Green. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Josiah Fisher, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Kankakee Trinity Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 35.5% in those games and 27% outside of them. As for HomeSchool Resource Center, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kankakee Trinity Academy will host Westlake Christian Academy at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for HomeSchool Resource Center, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Plum Creek Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
