Despite the defeat, Leake Central saw an underclassman step up: Ty'lan Fortune scored nine points.
Leake County's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-13. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Leake Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
