Basketball Game Preview: Trivium Prep Crimson Knights vs. Glendale Prep Academy Griffins

Trivium Prep hasn't had much luck against Glendale Prep Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Trivium Prep Crimson Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Glendale Prep Academy Griffins at 5:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Trivium Prep ended up a good deal behind Kingman Academy and lost 53-35.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Madison Hager, who went 8 of 20 en route to 16 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Hager is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Coby Luekenga, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Glendale Prep Academy waltzed into their game on Monday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 60-12 victory over the Wranglers. The Griffins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Glendale Prep Academy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points per game. As for Trivium Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Trivium Prep took a serious blow against Glendale Prep Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, falling 49-16. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Glendale Prep Academy's Senna Smith, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Now that Trivium Prep knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
