The Hillcrest Huskies and the Hunter Wolverines, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hunter took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hillcrest, who comes in off a win.
Hillcrest took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Wednesday. They came out on top against Kearns by a score of 3-1. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Hillcrest had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22.

Hillcrest had a senior duo take command as Jamin Gilbert had 20 assists and seven digs and Eli Santos had nine digs and three aces. Those 20 assists set a new season-high mark for Gilbert. Jael Romo also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.
Hillcrest was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Hunter didn't have quite enough to beat Granger last Thursday and fell 3-2. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
While Hunter ultimately came up short, they really made Granger work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-16, 18-16.
Hillcrest's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Hunter, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
