Moffat is 0-4 against Sangre de Cristo since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Moffat Cowboys will head out on the road to face off against the Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds at 4:00 p.m. Moffat will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Sangre de Cristo is ranked 139th).
Moffat's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Sierra Grande 45-11. Moffat was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-3.
Kadence McWilliams was Moffat's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Sequoia Sirois held things down on the boards with 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sangre de Cristo unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Sierra Grande by a score of 48-46.
Moffat's record is now 3-10. Sangre de Cristo's record is now 11-4.
Moffat took a serious blow against Sangre de Cristo in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 70-21. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Moffat was down 40-6.
