Mid-State - Buckeye recap November 5, 2013
Circleville added to the longest winning streak in Mid-State - Buckeye this week by beating Amanda-Clearcreek, 34-18. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Bloom-Carroll scaled the state rankings by moving to 265 from 296 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of topping Teays Valley 38-35.
Liberty Union's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. ERIC OWENS threw for 94 and 1 touchdown and ADAM SNYDER had 46 yards receiving. On the ground JACOB BASSO contributed 137 yards. ERIC MCCLURE helped Liberty Union's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 20 yards.
BASSO provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Lions bested Fairfield Union. BASSO's key target this week was SNYDER, who caught 2 passes for 46 yards.
BASSO was the best running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 137 yards as Liberty Union bested the Falcons. BRADEN GLASGOW also contributed to the rushing game with 25 yards on the ground.
Liberty Union's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. AUSTIN VANNATTA has thrown for 1,321 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while SNYDER has 35 catches for 538 yards.
Dan Johnson's team took down Fairfield Union 39-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. BASSO during the win.
