Softball Recap: Eminence Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Eminence entered their tilt with Crawfordsville on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Athenians 7-1. Considering the Eels have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Sophia Saucerman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over 6.1 innings pitched. Those 16 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Khloee Kirk and Emmalin Dittemore did most of the damage at the plate: Kirk got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Dittemore went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. Kirk has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jillian Henderson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Eminence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

Eminence's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Crawfordsville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Eminence didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Horizon Christian on the 28th. As for Crawfordsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Bethesda Christian on the 28th.
