Tri County Northeast took a 41-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pender. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tri County Northeast in their matchups with Pender: they've now lost three in a row.
Tri County Northeast's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Jorgensen, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Heikes, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Pender's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Beckman, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Alex Roth, who scored 13 points.
Tri County Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Pender, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri County Northeast will take on Homer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Homer is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Pender, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wisner-Pilger at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
