Basketball Recap: Cypress Creek Takes a Loss

Cypress Creek lost against Weeki Wachee back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cypress Creek Coyotes took a hard 48-32 fall against the Weeki Wachee Hornets. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Cypress Creek still got an impressive performance from Mackenzie Luebs, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. Those 15 points gave Luebs a new career-high. Ameeya Steadham was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Weeki Wachee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reese Halter, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. Halter is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rayana Coleman, who posted six points along with five assists and three steals.

Cypress Creek's record is now 8-11. As for Weeki Wachee, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Cypress Creek has already played their next matchup, a 64-15 win against Pasco on the 27th. As for Weeki Wachee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-36 victory against Citrus on the 24th.
