The Westwood Christian Warriors suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 88-54 loss at the hands of Dwyer. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Westwood Christian has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Westwood Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ethan Taylor. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 20 rebounds. Taylor is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of William Nadaskay, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Leading Dwyer to victory were Jaelen Nelson and Amari Nealy. Nelson scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Nealy dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 rebounds. Nealy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bobby Gilbert III, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Westwood Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Dwyer, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.
Westwood Christian on the road again on Monday and play against Booker T. Washington at 11:30 a.m. on January 15th. Booker T. Washington is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.1 points per game. As for Dwyer, they will head out on the road to take on Palm Beach Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Palm Beach Lakes will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Dwyer is ranked 16th).
