Winamac has gone a perfect 10-0 against North Judson-San Pierre recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Bluejays at 5:30 p.m. Winamac is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Friday just wasn't the day for Winamac's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Newton on Friday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.
North Judson-San Pierre never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Oregon-Davis on Friday. They blew past the Bobcats 17-4. The contest marked the Bluejays' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Molly Madsen made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Madsen was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, North Judson-San Pierre got a massive performance out of Kenya Cooper, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Cooper has posted since back in May of 2024. Lexi Howard was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
North Judson-San Pierre always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
North Judson-San Pierre's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Winamac, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Winamac hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like North Judson-San Pierre struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Winamac took their win against North Judson-San Pierre when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
