Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Forreston's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Forreston won the last time they faced Amboy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cardinals never let the Clippers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Brendan Greenfield was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Greenfield was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Greenfield wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carson Akins, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Darin Greenfield, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Forreston has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Amboy, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Coming up, Forreston will challenge Eastland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Amboy, they will face off against Marquette at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Clippers will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
