Dayton is 1-9 against Churchill County since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Dayton suffered their biggest loss since November 27, 2023 on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Lowry, falling 68-34. Dayton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-16.
Dayton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ayisha Agee, who scored 14 points along with four steals, and Aileen Hernandez who scored ten points along with two steals. Agee hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games.
Meanwhile, Churchill County faced Fernley in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Churchill County had to suffer through a rough 77-23 loss at the hands of Fernley. Churchill County has not had much luck with Fernley recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Dayton has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Churchill County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.
Dayton might still be hurting after the 40-19 loss they got from Churchill County when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Dayton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
