The Jefferson Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Portland Adventist Academy at home by a decisive 61-44 margin. Jefferson lost against Portland Adventist Academy in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 48-38 score last time.
It was another big night for Dane Petersen, who scored 28 points along with nine rebounds and six assists for Portland Adventist Academy. The match was Petersen's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Trygg Patchin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Portland Adventist Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Jefferson will head out on the road to face off against Colton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Colton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jefferson in Oregon (Colton is ranked eighth, while Jefferson is ranked 183rd). Portland Adventist Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Scio at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
