Basketball Recap: McClintock Comes Up Short

McClintock lost a heartbreaker to Kellis when they met back in January of 2018, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The McClintock Chargers took a 58-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kellis Cougars. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Despite the loss, McClintock still got an impressive performance from Niya Gamble, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Gamble also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Lamaiya Woodberry was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Jeorgia Parks- Rodriquez was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double with 12 points, 18 rebounds, and ten steals for Kellis. Another player making a difference was Shanielle Mallory, who posted eight points along with five assists and four steals.

McClintock's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Kellis, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-2.

McClintock has already played their next match, a 62-28 victory against Fairfax on the 4th. As for Kellis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 79-58 win against Willow Canyon on the 4th.
