East Hardy has gone 9-1 against Pendleton County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Wildcat at 6:00 p.m. East Hardy has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Monday just wasn't the day for East Hardy's offense. They lost 15-0 to Allegany on Monday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pendleton County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They never let Tucker County get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Monday. The matchup marked the Wildcat's most dominant win of the season so far.
Travis Owens and Mason Miller made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Owens tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Miller pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Pendleton County's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). At bat, Owens went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Miller went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Owens is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Chase Owens and Cashton Kisamore did most of the damage at the plate: Chase went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs, while Kisamore went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Pendleton County is 2-1 when Owens posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Conner Hartman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Pendleton County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
East Hardy's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Pendleton County, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3.
