New Kent has gone a perfect 10-0 against Grafton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Clippers at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in New Kent's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Grafton has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
New Kent's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Lafayette 20-0. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Abbie Kegley made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, New Kent got a massive performance out of Sydney Eubank, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Eubank has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kendall White, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
New Kent hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Grafton didn't have quite enough to beat Smithfield on Friday and fell 3-1.
Grafton's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for New Kent, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Grafton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: New Kent has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .514. It's a different story for Grafton, though, as they've only averaged .313. Will they be able to contain New Kent's hitters?
New Kent took their win against Grafton when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-3 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Clippers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
