Meanwhile, Christian Collegiate Academy faced Tunica Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Christian Collegiate Academy claimed a resounding 50-22 win over Tunica Academy on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for Christian Collegiate Academy.
Christian Collegiate Academy's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from DJ Biggs, who rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Biggs hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Sean Fairley, who rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Their wins bumped Newton County Academy to 11-1 and Christian Collegiate Academy to 7-3.
