Fannett Metal extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-7. They came up short against the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers, falling 11-0. If Fannett Metal was looking for revenge after losing 8-6 to Berlin Brothersvalley when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Kylie Arnold made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Toree Hoffman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
As for Berlin Brothersvalley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1. Considering they have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
On Berlin Brothersvalley's side, Sam Walker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Walker has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in June of 2025.
In other batting news, Elsie Barna was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elena Ritchey, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Fannett Metal has already played their next matchup, a 17-2 win against Forbes Road on the 23rd. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-1 victory against Windber on the 22nd.
