Goddard is 0-10 against Artesia since April of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Rockets will host the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Goddard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Goddard made easy work of Clovis and carried off a 16-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rockets.

Juliet Gallegos was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Gallegos was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Goddard got a massive performance out of Roxanna Serrano, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Marisol Hernandez was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Goddard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clovis only posted a batting average of .357.
Meanwhile, Artesia waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Coyotes get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.
The result came thanks to Katrin Marquez's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Artesia's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Arianna Montoya, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kinsley Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Goddard's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Artesia, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 11-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Goddard hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Artesia struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Goddard might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Artesia when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Rockets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
