After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brazosport Christian, Memorial Lutheran were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They secured a 61-56 W over Second Baptist University-Model. With that victory, Memorial Lutheran brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.
It was another big night for David Porter, who scored 35 points. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Smith, who scored 12 points.
Memorial Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Second Baptist University-Model, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Memorial Lutheran has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Living Stones Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Second Baptist University-Model, they will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Brazosport Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
