Liberty is 10-0 against Century since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Liberty Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Century Jaguars at 5:45 p.m. Liberty is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Liberty didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Glencoe, but they still walked away with a 55-49 win.
Meanwhile, Century's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They took a serious blow against McMinnville, falling 89-40. While losing is never fun, Century can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while McMinnville is ranked sixth).
The losing side was boosted by Kami Carmean, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Abbie Scharringhausen, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-13 record this season. As for Century, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Liberty against Century when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 67-28 victory. Will Liberty repeat their success, or does Century have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
