The Millard South Patriots pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 73-64 to Millard North. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Millard South in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost nine in a row.
Millard South's loss came despite strong showings from Bernie Anderson and Isaac Jensen. Anderson scored 20 points, while Jensen scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Cooper, who scored nine points.
Derek Rollins was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 12 rebounds for Millard North. Rollins is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Neal Mosser was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Millard South's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Millard North, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millard South will take on the Junior Jays at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Millard North, they will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats on Friday. Millard West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Mustangs are ranked second).
