The Moore Catholic Mavericks will face off against the Salesian Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Salesian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Moore Catholic, who comes in off a win.
Moore Catholic barely beat Cardinal Hayes the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mavericks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 13-0 shutout on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Mavericks needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

KENNY VAZQUEZ looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, CHARLES ELLIS was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was BRIAN BADALAMENTI, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Moore Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cardinal Hayes only posted an OBP of .294.
Meanwhile, Salesian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-7 to All Hallows. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.
Amir Inoa was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Kristopher Paredez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Moore Catholic's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-5-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Salesian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Everything went Moore Catholic's way against Salesian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Moore Catholic made off with a 14-5 win. Will the Mavericks repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
