She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Andi Medina and Isa Medina did some serious damage despite the final result: Andi went 3-for-5 with one home run and five RBI, while Isa went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Autumn Brown, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln Park). Everything went their way against Von Steuben on Wednesday as they made off with an 18-3 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Eleanor Funke was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April. Bella Garcia also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Lincoln Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Von Steuben only managed four hits.
Lincoln Park is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Chicago Hope Academy, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chicago Hope Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .405. However, it's not like Lincoln Park struggles in that department as they've averaged .330. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
