The Eastlake Titans will square off against the Classical Academy Caimans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastlake's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Classical Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Monday, Eastlake was able to grind out a solid win over Helix, taking the game 8-3. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Eastlake got a great performance from Nick Romero as he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts Romero has posted since back in March.
At the plate, Angel Laya was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of JP Conero, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Eastlake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Classical Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past Ridgeview 12-2 on Monday. The game marked the Caimans' most dominant win of the season so far.
Aidan Suitor made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Suitor was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Classical Academy let Vaughn Rink and Westin Michals run wild. Rink went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while Michals scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Michals is becoming a predictor of Classical Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-8 when he doesn't). Sammy McNemar was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Classical Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Eastlake, their win bumped their record up to 9-6-1.
Eastlake came out on top in a nail-biter against Classical Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Caimans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
